Ukrainian Mother Welcomes Triplets in Her Fifth Birth at Poltava Regional Hospital

In an inspiring story from Ukraine’s Poltava region, a woman has given birth to triplets — two girls and a boy — marking her fifth successful delivery. The birth took place on March 23 at the Perinatal Center of the Poltava Regional Clinical Hospital.

The babies were born at 35 weeks of pregnancy via a planned cesarean section after labor began. A multidisciplinary team of obstetricians, neonatologists, and anesthesiologists carried out the operation with precision and care.

Close Medical Supervision and Advanced Care

Doctors revealed that the expectant mother had been under continuous medical observation since the 18th week of her pregnancy. She received specialized treatment in several hospital departments — including gynecology, extragenital pathology, and obstetrics — to ensure both her safety and that of her babies.

According to the medical team, the treatment followed the “Premature Birth” protocol (NICE, 2022) and included the use of gestagens, tocolysis, and a cerclage obstetric pessary. To further reduce the risk of surgical bleeding, patented methods developed by the hospital’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Perinatal Center staff were applied.

Healthy Arrival of Three New Lives

The cesarean operation proceeded without complications. All three newborns were in good condition at birth:

First baby (boy): 2,030 grams, 48 cm

Second baby (girl): 1,870 grams, 44 cm

Third baby (girl): 1,860 grams, 44 cm

Each received strong Apgar scores of 7–8 points, signaling healthy adaptation after delivery.

A Testament to Expertise and Maternal Strength

The successful birth underscores both the medical excellence of the Poltava Perinatal Center and the resilience of a mother who has now brought five children into the world.
It’s yet another proud moment for the hospital team — and a joyful new beginning for one remarkable family.
