In preparation for his comeback, Conor McGregor has affirmed his determination to avoid all alcoholic beverages, including his own brand of whiskey and stout.
The Irishman is still working his way back to full fitness from the broken leg he suffered against Dustin Poirier in their third fight last year.
He is expected to be back in action in the summer but has regularly posted pictures and videos on his social media channel of himself enjoying a drink.

But he said on Instagram, ‘very soon’ he will be going teetotal, explaining: ‘For my fighting fans. I want to say I know I am enjoying myself with my liquid, but very soon I will be immersing myself in full training again with complete abstention from my wonderful creations of Spirit and Ale. Just 5 more minutes Ma!’
McGregor’s message was part of a larger post, toasting the success of his stout sales.
He wrote: ‘Sitting in actual awe at present. Can’t quite describe it.
‘Last week, Saturday, the first day Ireland became free from restriction, and also coincidentally the anniversary of the late Arthur Guinness, @forgedirishstout outsold Guinness on premises for the first time.

McGregor the businessman will take a backseat in the months ahead as he looks to resurrect his career in the UFC.
It remains to be seen who the ‘Notorious’ will clash with next but given that Charles Oliveira is taking on Justin Gaethje, it seems Michael Chandler could be the best bet.
McGregor previously said he expected to be fully sparring again by April so could be back in action by June or July.
