DCU Fans Find a Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman Blunder in Shazam 2 That Bombed at Box Office With $132 Million Worldwide Collection

Gal Gadot’s cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods was hailed as a bright spot in an otherwise dismal film. The David F. Sandberg-directed project has been a colossal disappointment for DC and Warner Bros. Discovery. The sequel to the 2019 Shazam! grossed an embarrassing $132 million worldwide on a budget of $110 million to 125 million as per The Numbers.

However, it looks like there are dark spots on the one good thing that was unequivocally loved by whoever watched it. A Twitter user has spotted a continuity error in Gal Gadot’s small appearance in the film as Wonder Woman, and it’s making things worse for the flop project.

Shazam 2 has an underwhelming Rotten Tomatoes score of just 49%. The movie was barely in theaters for three weeks before it was pulled by Warner Bros. to give it a digital release. While more people have watched it since its streaming debut, it has also allowed many to take a closer look at the film, especially the much-hyped cameo of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

One Twitter user, @Ajay005RB, found a small continuity error regarding Wonder Woman. In the film, there’s a newspaper with Wonder Woman’s photo on the wall that’s seen right after the Bridge scene. But the picture can’t logically be there because it is from the first Wonder Woman film. That’s not all. As the Twitter user said, “How tf did they take this picture?” Here’s the tweet:

    Ảnh

The photo used of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman is from the famed No Man’s Land scene of the 2017 film. This one photo breaks immersion and continuity in two ways. One is because no cameras existed in 1917 when the film takes place, that could have taken such a quality picture.

Two, even if there was such a camera, that specific angle would be impossible to achieve unless and until the cameraman was above the trenches. We as viewers know that the shot of Gadot is from the first Wonder Woman film. But where did characters in the Shazam 2 movie get that picture from? No explanation has been given for that and as a result, fans are upset.

DC Fans Blast Shazam 2 For Wonder Woman Continuity Error

Such errors aren’t expected from a movie with a high production budget like Shazam 2. After all, since Gal Gadot was already present on the sets for the cameo appearance, they could have taken another picture of her to use in the newspaper clipping. Due to this small error, DC fans are now upset at the film and making fun of it online.

Here’s what the fans are saying:

Photographer just sitting there in no man’s land all “I hope some woman just comes up this ladder so I can get my shot.”

They’ll bypass this plot hole because the movie is “fun.”

Should at least be in black & white and aged film… but Shazam was never really get with continuity

Barry ran back in time and took it on his phone.

It must be said that there’s probably no need to look so deeply into this. While it’s certainly an error that shouldn’t have been overlooked during production, Shazam 2 is hardly the first film to do this. But now that the film is getting ridiculed due to this, others will probably take a closer look at other scenes to figure out if anything else was missed by production.
