"Don't think I'd have done as good a job as him": Marvel Star Nicholas Hoult is Glad He Lost $770M Movie Role to Robert Pattinson

British actor Nicholas Hoult has made a name for himself in Hollywood with his talent and versatility. He gained international recognition for his portrayal of Marcus Brewer in the 2002 film About a Boy, but his role as Hank McCoy/Beast in the X-Men film franchise truly launched him into stardom. He began acting at a young age, appearing in several TV shows and films in his native country.

Since then, Hoult has become a sought-after actor known for his ability to bring depth and complexity to a wide range of characters. He has starred in various films, including Warm Bodies and Mad Max: Fury Road, earning critical acclaim and a legion of fans. The actor was also in the running to play the lead in Matt Reeves’ The Batman but eventually lost to Robert Pattinson.

Why Did Nicholas Hoult Lose The Batman Role

During a recent interview with GQ, Nicholas Hoult was asked about his desire to play the Caped Crusader, to which he responded by saying that he would have loved to play the part. He also praised Matt Reeves’ creative vision for the film and Rober Pattinson’s portrayal of the character.

“Of course, I’m sure if you ask most people, they’ll tell you what they want to do. I think Matt Reeves’ ideas were fantastic and he made a brilliant movie. And I also think that Rob [Robert Pattinson] did an amazing job with the character and I loved seeing him in it. So I don’t think I would have done as good a job as him ultimately.”

The actor also shared how painful it is to not get selected for a part. However, as an actor, accepting such news is necessary. Hoult has made peace with not getting cast in the role and has moved on.

“I can pretty well accept that they didn’t cast me and when I see the cast actor doing a great job, and I enjoy it, and it’s good, I’m like, ‘oh yeah, they made the right choice. They knew what they were doing.’”
