Photographer Heather Gallagher said: “Against all expectations. Baby Luca was 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 safe and sound yesterday morning at his belly’s house after more than two years of trying and through surrogacy, after countless rounds of ɪɴ-ᴠɪᴛʀᴏ ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴢᴀᴛɪᴏɴ and changes in plans due to ⒸⓄⓋⒾⒹ-①⑨. This delivery was incredible and took place at an unprecedented time.

Through all of this tragedy that has been ⒸⓄⓋⒾⒹ-①⑨, I’ve managed to keep myself emotionally stable by thinking that life moves on, but seeing life unfold in real time during such a difficult time has changed me forever.
Now, more than ever, I am inspired by the power of humanity and the perseverance of love. Thank you so much, Mirelle Leguia, her beautiful surrogate, C, and their families, for inviting me to record this moment in their lives and for showing me what true sacrifice and dedication to family look like.”
