A young mum says it is “ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ but I love it” after having two sets of twins resulting in a hectic house with five children under five.
Nadine Robertson, 24, and husband Phil from Doncaster welcomed daughter Isla in 2017, followed by twins Olivia and Ivy in 2018. The youngest children, Cody and Hazel, arrived 10 weeks ago. Nadine, who ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇᴅ both sets of twins ᴡɪᴛʜᴏᴜᴛ ⒾⓋⒻ, explained neither sheɴᴏʀ husband had a family ʜɪsᴛᴏʀʏ of twins. She said: “I just wing it every day to be honest. I wake up and I hope the rest of them are going to be in a good mood and are going to help me out. It’s ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ but I love it.”
The children are spread across their four-bedroom home, with each set of twins sharing a room and Isla enjoying one to herself. Nadine said when she goes out with both sets of twins, she often gets ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴛs from sᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀs who sᴛᴏᴘ her in the street. She said: “Every time I go out I get people sᴛᴏᴘᴘɪɴɢ me on the street. As soon as they realise that there’s two babies in the pram and I have the other two little ones with me, they always ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴛ on it.” While she gets a lot of ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴛs, Nadine ᴅᴏᴇsɴ’ᴛ think it is so strange to have double twins as she has come across a lot on social media.
Nadine continued: “It ᴅᴏᴇsɴ’ᴛ feel that ᴜɴᴜsᴜᴀʟ to me because I’m on a lot of twin mum Facebook groups so I see loads of people with two sets of twins. But I suppose for other people it’s not that typical.” The ᴄᴏᴍᴍᴇɴᴛs ʀᴀɴɢᴇ ғʀᴏᴍ ǫᴜᴇsᴛɪᴏɴs on their ʙᴇʜᴀᴠɪᴏᴜʀ to whether the kids are the result of ⒾⓋⒻ. I get it all the time, mainly from ᴏʟᴅᴇʀ people, asking if I had ⒾⓋⒻ, which I didn’t. The first person who asked me, when I had my first set, I was really taken aback. “It’s so weird because if you had one baby no one would ever dream of asking ‘were they ɴᴀᴛᴜʀᴀʟ or did you have ⒾⓋⒻ?’ But I just get it a lot, especially now with two sets, I know people are just curious.”
