Man Utd have been on fire since Cristiano Ronaldo’s ugly departure from the club, but that doesn’t mean the Portuguese ace has been completely wiped from memory

Cristiano Ronaldo may be in Saudi Arabia but CR7’s legacy is still going strong at Man Utd.
The Portuguese ace messily left the club and sealed a lucrative move to Middle East giants Al Nassr. Since his departure, Erik ten Hag’s side have won their last five matches in all competitions while playing with serious pace and menace.
However, that does not mean all traces of the Portuguese captain have been wiped from Old Trafford. United youngster Alejandro Garnacho, who once copied Ronaldo’s iconic celebration, is still, quite possibly unintentionally, giving Ronaldo a tribute at United.
During United’s victory over Everton, the precocious Argentine was wearing a pair of ‘CR7’ branded boxer shorts. Eagle eyed fans were able to spot the ‘CR7’ written on the side of his underwear when he lifted up his shirt to pull his shorts up during the Red Devils’ 3-1 victory over Everton.
Earlier in the campaign, Garnacho posted a photo of himself alongside the iconic forward with the caption ‘I don’t know if it’s real or if I’m dreaming’ shortly after he came off the bench against Sheriff Tiraspol.

His dynamic runs, swift movement, and trickery have also seen many people draw comparisons with the young winger and Ronaldo, when he first made his mark in the early 2000s. United are hoping he can help fill the void Ronaldo has left in Ten Hag’s squad.
Ronaldo’s contract was terminated by the club in the wake of his explosive interview with Piers Morgan. He criticised his teammates, the Glazer family, former interim manager Ralf Rangnick, and Ten Hag over the course of the shocking 90 minute interview.

Despite the fact he repeatedly stated he wanted to play in the Champions League, Ronaldo secured a record breaking move to Al Nassr. He will reportedly earn a staggering £172m per year at the Middle Eastern giants making him, by some distance, the world’s highest paid footballer.
Ronaldo is yet to take to the field for the Saudi giants but he has already posed with the club’s yellow jersey and taken part in a training session in front of the club’s fans.
