When the Los Angeles Lakers were 2-10 to begin the 2022–23 NBA season, it was difficult to imagine how they would turn things around, but they have. The Lakers have won their last five games, and they are now just one win away from making the playoffs.
LeBron James has led the way as usual, averaging 38.0 PPG, 9.0 RPG, and 8.0 APG while shooting 58.0% from the field in the 4 games he played in during this winning streak. While he’d be happy with the fact that the team is undefeated in 2023, LeBron wants even more and that was the message he relayed to the team, stating that they should be greedy. Russell Westbrook, however, had a different message, as he told the team to have fun whether they win lose or draw. James clearly wasn’t too happy to hear that and had a priceless reaction on his face.
To be fair to Russ, he is just trying to send across a positive message that they should be having fun out there on the court. When teams stick together and have fun, the wins will come and the players have been having a lot of fun out there. Their next game will probably be the toughest in recent times, as they take on the Denver Nuggets on the road. A win over the top seed in the Western Conference would be huge for this team and you better believe LeBron is going to put on a show
Rival Executives Believe The Lakers Are Saving Their Draft Picks For Zach LaVine Or Bradley Beal
With LeBron and the Lakers being on a roll, there are growing calls for them to trade for Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. The season is clearly not lost as we had once thought, and the Lakers need to make some moves to strengthen the roster.
Rival executives, however, do not believe that the Lakers will pursue that duo. They think that the franchise is saving their draft picks for a bigger name like Zach LaVine or Bradley Beal. If the Lakers do somehow manage to land either of these two, then you’d have to say they would have a chance of making some noise in the postseason.
