What’s adorable, gray, and wrinkly all over? Baby elephants have inner charms that spread positive and happy vibes to people around them. These young ʙᴜʟᴋʏ animals are also innocent and energetic. They are masters of creating fun for themselves. And of course, no one can’t resist their cuteness. Today’s story is also about a very bright and funny face. The calf can’t wait to jump into his bath but ends up making his humans laugh at his clumsiness.
Learning to bathe yourself is a rite of passage for children. It can be daunting – soaping themselves up, standing under the shower… it has to be done, though. Mommy and Daddy can’t do that forever. Well, we hope that Mommy and Daddy realize that they don’t have to do that… with some exceptions like special needs or ᴘᴀʀᴀʟʏᴢᴇᴅ children. A baby elephant trying to learn how to master this skill with some hilarious results.
This takes place at a sanctuary in Thailand. One of the people there filled up a tub of water. The baby elephant wants to wash himself, but he’s not sure how to go about it. It intentionally dives head-first into the bath full of water. His favorite time of the day comes and he just enjoys it the best he can. But the chubby short legs “betrays” the playful kid. He ꜰᴀʟʟs over onto his side.
However, the “ᴄᴏʟʟᴀᴘsᴇ” doesn’t prevent the calf from enjoying her bath. He is so excited that he keeps kicking his front legs while resting on the side of the tub. He even stands on all fours legs and presses his trunk in the water. The playful calf loves seeing water splash out of the tub and onto the floor. Although the bath (bucket) is a bit smaller than his size, it doesn’t matter at all. The calf can still enjoy his bath and gets tons of fun with it. He can’t hide the happiness and excitement on his face.
He was so busy playing and playing in the water that he didn’t care about his bathing. Most elephants wash their backs by arching their trunks over their heads and spraying. This little fella hasn’t mastered that yet. He can only spray his chest. He’s wet, but there are still large portions that are dry, and presumably dirty. Finally, his mama comes over and pushes the tub away, like “You haven’t figured this out. No more!”
Nearly all parents, be they human or otherwise, experience this ᴇxᴀsᴘᴇʀᴀᴛɪᴏɴ when they see their children sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟɪɴɢ with learning something new like bathing. “How can they not know how to do this?” They’ve bathed themselves so many times that it’s so easy to do without thinking. A young baby elephant is still forming its ɴᴇᴜʀᴀʟ pathways, so this inability to grasp this seemingly simple task is understandable.
