After weeks of speculation about his future, it was announced on Friday that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner had signed for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
The club said on social media: “History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome @Cristiano to your new home @AlNassrFC.”

Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly has a clause in his Al-Nassr contract that allows him to leave for a Champions League club.
It was reported that Ronaldo signed a two-year deal with huge wages. However, according to Spanish news outlet Fichajes, Ronaldo has a clause in his Al-Nassr contract that allows him to leave for Premier League club Newcastle United.
For that move to happen, Eddie Howe’s side will have to first qualify for the Champions League. If they manage to secure a place in the competition, there will be an option for Ronaldo to join Newcastle on a loan deal as they are owned by the Saudi backed public investment fund.
The Magpies have had quite a start to the 22/23 season, they are currently basking in great form as they find themselves third in the Premier League table, only two points behind reigning champions Manchester City.
However, it will take a huge effort for them to fend off the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea for a place in the top four.

Manager Howe previously spoke about his side’s chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
He said: “I don’t know about that, I just think for us, we’ve just committed to every game.
“We haven’t thought about any permutation or any consequence of the games, we’ve just tried to win them and think that’s the best way for us to attack the second half of the season as well.”
Next up for Newcastle will be a huge test against highflying league leaders Arsenal.
Will Newcastle finish in the top four? Let us know in the comments.
Manchester United keeping tabs on 30-year-old striker as Cristiano Ronaldo’s replacement
Manchester United are keeping tabs on 30-year-old striker Vincent Aboubakar as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Aboubakar is currently playing for Al-Nassr out in Saudi Arabia, the club Ronaldo has recently signed for. The Cameroonian’s game time could be limited due to the introduction of Ronaldo who will undoubtedly be starting every single game after his big-money move.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are considering a move for Aboubakar as they look to find a replacement for Ronaldo. United’s attacking options are very limited at the moment, so it’s no surprise to see them in the market for a striker during the January transfer window.
A new attacker could be a priority for Manchester United, but their fans may have been hoping to have been linked to more exciting, younger players rather than the likes of Aboubakar.
However, signing players in January can sometimes be difficult, so Aboubakar brought in as a stopgap before bringing in a big name during the summer transfer window.
It’s no disrespect to Aboubakar, who has scored goals almost everywhere he goes, but it’s not the marquee striker signing United fans may have hoped for.
