Kevin Durant Says Hitting A Three On Someone Is Better Than Dunking On Them

On Saturday morning, Kevin Durant and his group at “the Boardroom” were giving back in the run-up to Christmas. Rapid-fire Q&A with Kevin Durant was released by the Boardroom again after the previous installment’s popularity.

This time he answered questions about the worst practice drills, the nicest teammates he’s ever had, and what other sport he’d play if he wasn’t playing basketball.

He also made a pick between draining a three in someone’s face and posterizing them.

“What’s better, hitting a three on someone or dunking on someone?”

Durant: “Hitting a three.”

Seasoned basketball fans already know how deadly Durant is offensively, but this is just more evidence that it all just comes so easily for him. As one of the best shooters on the planet, Durant taking a three over someone is pretty much the same as a contested layup, anyway.

This season especially, Durant is proving that to be true. With averages of 29.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game on 56.3% shooting, he has inserted himself into the MVP conversation this season and has kept the Nets alive in the Eastern Conference standings.

Still, KD hasn’t had an easy road this season. After nearly tearing his team apart over the summer, Durant had to play through various injuries to his teammates and the firing of Steve Nash before the Nets finally started to make some progress.

Can The Brooklyn Nets Win The NBA Title?

This season, the Nets were counted out by a lot of fans due to their chaotic and drama-filled off-season. But now that the focus is back on basketball, the Nets are thriving, and KD sees the potential of the group.

“I get that other people don’t look at our roster as a championship roster, but when we get wins the way we get wins, you gotta pay attention to that,” Durant told Yahoo Sports. “When Kai [Kyrie Irving] and Ben [Simmons] didn’t play, we beat teams by [nearly] 40 points. Any other team, it’s, ‘Hold on, what they doing over there? They take us for granted, me and Kai especially. We gotta jump through a Hula-Hoop of fire to be impressed.”

Certainly, the Nets have looked pretty strong of late as winners of 8 straight games. The trio of Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and Ben Simmons haven’t looked perfect, but they’ve been more than adequate to earn wins so far this season.

If they can maintain their offensive rhythm, and keep holding firm on the other end of the floor, then don’t be surprised if this team makes a run come playoff time.
