Tiger Woods Injury: Concerns Rise About His Return While Pressure to Join Seniors Tour Increases

The 2025 season witnessed two of the most adrenaline-filled majors, with the best of the OWGR taking the title home. But despite the iconic performance and historic achievements, it felt incomplete. Reason? Tiger Woods was not there. Earlier this year, he shared an update about undergoing back surgery. The hopes of him teeing off at Augusta were still alive, but a new setback in the form of a ruptured left Achilles interrupted that. Even after skipping the PGA Championship, the golf world hoped for an update. And now, there is one!

Woods’s doctor, Dr. Charlton, has shared that Woods is expected to recover fully, but the timeline for rest would be stretched to the end of this year or early 2026. This means he won’t participate in the US Open or The Open. This had pretty much dampened the mood of his fans, but Tiger recently gave an assurance to the community. Rolex recently shared a video about Tiger Woods’s past statement on his injury. The statement reflected his attitude towards the game, and the timing of the video posting is a hint that the golfer’s comeback is soon.

In the video, the 82-time PGA Tour title winner has shared his zeal to compete, but a major hindrance? The recovery process. “The fire still burns to compete, that’s never going to leave. The difference is, the recovery of the body to do it is not what it used to be.” For Woods, injuries have been a constant hurdle. His first injury happened in December 1994. However, he is more affected now than he used to before. The reason for this is his age (49) and just a few months left to join the senior division of the PGA Tour Champions. But with the same fire, the golfer’s eagerness to return is enough assurance for his fans.

But for the fact, the same injury earlier in his career resulted in a delay in his participation, but not for long.

Tiger Woods’s Achilles injury in the past

Back in April 2011, the Big Cat withdrew from the Wells Fargo Championship due to a “minor” injury to his left knee and Achilles tendon. He took precautionary time off the course, but soon it again affected his participation.

A month later, in May, Woods withdrew from the Players Championship after nine holes, following which he took a three-month-long break from golf. However, his recovery was swift, thanks to a surgery. But this time, the surgery and recovery might take time, but the chances of relapse like in 2011 are minimal.

Now, with the successful surgery, our hopes of witnessing the GOAT back in action wearing red on Sundays, are high. Are you eager to watch Tiger Woods’ comeback? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below.

The PGA Tour has officially broken its silence! The organization has decided to sanction Robert MacIntyre following controversial allegations of cheating and defamation of Scottie Scheffler at the 2025 BMW Championship. This is considered a tough move, sending a clear message that the PGA Tour will not tolerate any behavior that affects the reputation and transparency of the tournament.

PGA CHAOS Erupts! USGA President Mike Whan has finally spoken out, standing by Scottie Scheffler amid the furor at the BMW Championship 2025. In a stunning decision, Whan stressed that “insults and abusive behavior have no place in elite golf,” and fined Robert MacIntyre a hefty sum for publicly humiliating Scheffler — sending shockwaves through the global golfing world.
