Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs has added his name to the Justyn Ross hype train.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes met with local media members via Zoom on Monday and was asked about his impressions from working alongside Justyn Ross.
The reigning NFL and Super Bowl MVP spoke highly of his teammate and former Clemson wide receiver, Ross.
Mahomes cited his teammate’s natural-born football talents as key to his potential.
“Yeah, I mean, the talent is through the roof,” Mahomes said in reference to Ross.
“I think anyone can see that. He’s getting better and better. Even though he wasn’t active all year he was in the building and he was able to see the guys and how we do things.
“Listening and being in the meetings and some of the stuff like that. I’m excited for him, man.
“To be able to get out there and get the reps in practice, get the little fine details that we like to do in this offense.”

Mahomes told the media that he has instructed Ross to take his foot off the gas slightly with regards to his offseason development.
“Like I said, the talent’s there and he works his tail off,” said the Chiefs QB.
“I’m like, ‘Man, you got to ease up a little bit.’ He wants to run the route 100 times.
“But you rather have to ease up a guy, make him kind of ease up on himself, but you know he wants to work and be the best player he can possibly be.”
The Kansas City Chiefs signed Ross as an undrafted free agent last offseason but the 23-year-old spent the entire 2022 NFL season on injured reserve due to a foot injury which saw him receive corrective foot surgery.
All signs are pointing towards full recovery as Patrick Mahomes backs Ross to be firing on all cylinders in 2023.
