BTS member SUGA is releasing his first official solo album, “D-DAY.”

“D-DAY” marks the concluding chapter of a trilogy by SUGA’s another moniker, Agust D, succeeding the previous mixtapes, “Agust D” and “D-2.” The album delves into the personal journey of SUGA as Agust D, offering an intimate portrayal of his life as an artist.

We ask for fans’ love and support for the last chapter of his trilogy.

As the days count down to the album’s release on April 21, Suga surprised fans by releasing his two previous mixtapes, Agust D and D-2, on streaming platforms worldwide.

With over a decade of music creation and production under his belt, he revealed in his interview with Billboard that BTS often struggled to be seen as both musicians and idols and shared they were stuck in an “ambiguous position.”

…when we first started in the K-pop scene, we were in this ambiguous position of not being accepted as musicians and not being accepted as idols either. But the musicians close to me know that I’m very serious and sincere in music and that I’m a very natural person.

Suga’s Agust D mixtape contains a song of the same name that samples James Brown‘s legendary song, “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World.”

While discussing his approval to use the late James Brown’s song and the use of J.Cole‘s “Born Sinner” for BTS’s “Born Singer,” he revealed that he feels he’s finally earning recognition for being a musician.

I’m really not thinking that broader consumers or audiences will accept it, because it’s not really popular music. Still, I would dare assume that it’s getting cleared because we’re finally getting recognized as musicians.

Suga hopes to reveal more of his “normal, individual side” to ARMYs in his upcoming raw and vulnerable documentary, showcasing his artistic process and preparations for his first album and solo world tour.
