Wild celebrations broke out in the locker room as Real Madrid celebrated their crushing of Barcelona.
The Spanish powerhouses defeated their El Clasico rivals by a score of 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Karim Benzema in the Copa del Rey semifinal.
After the game, a picture that surfaced from the locker room showed Carlo Ancelotti’s team celebrating.
Luka Modric was surrounded in a video posted to Madrid’s official Twitter account before the team as a whole started chanting.
The players then changed the chant to “So, so, so Madrid wins!”
The squad members could then be seen dancing to the music, with Carlos Vinicius, Antonio Rudiger, and Eder Militao serving as the group’s captains.
In another video, Ancelotti is seen giving his team members a day off.
The 63-year-old is seen grinning as he breaks the news to them.
After he says, “Listen up, tomorrow is a day off,” the players leap to their feet and embrace one another.
As he got on the team bus, former Arsenal loanee Dani Ceballos joined in the fun by calling Barcelona “the new era.”
Real Madrid stars react like they’ve won the league as Carlo Ancelotti gives them day off
Real Madrid players enjoy an ᴜɴᴇxᴘᴇᴄᴛᴇᴅ day off from work just as much as anyone else, despite being multimillionaires with the world at their fingertips.
There is video showing the Los Blancos players jumping for joy at the conclusion of head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s post-game analysis after their resounding victory over archrival Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final second leg.
Vinicius Junior’s opening goal in first-half stoppage time gave Barca, who leads Ancelotti’s European champions by 12 points at the top of La Liga, a 1-0 lead from the first leg, but they were easily defeated.
Karim Benzema, the winner of the Ballon d’Or, then took over, scoring Los Blancos’ opening goal off a pass from Luka Modric. He later added a second goal from the penalty spot in the 58th minute after Vinicius was brought down in the box.
Ten minutes from time, Benzema finished off a quick ᴄᴏᴜɴᴛᴇʀᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋ to complete his second hat-trick in as many games, handing Xavi’s Barcelona a humiliating home loss.
Naturally delighted with the outcome, the players were in good spirits as Ancelotti addressed them following the tie. They were even happier when the Italian told them they would get a day off as a reward.
Serial Champions League champions like Benzema and Modric could be seen jumping for joy in the locker room, celebrating as though they had just won a league or cup, at the thought of a leisurely day rather than a workout at their opulent training facility.
Real will play Osasuna in the Champions League final on May 6, continuing their quest for a 15th championship. The first leg is against Chelsea on Wednesday.
Only Ferenc Puskas, a club legend, and Benzema are the only Real Madrid players in history to each score a hat-trick at Camp Nou. Ferenc Puskas accomplished this feat in 1963.
