Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has recently launched a new trainer collection in collaboration with Adidas. As explained by the NFL star himself, the new sneaker line was inspired by his daughter, Sterling.
Mahomes announced the news via social media, posting a photo of himself wearing the sneakers with the caption: “For Sterling Skye My latest colorway “Family Time” drops today for Sterling’s birthday”.
Mahomes also celebrated his one-year wedding anniversary on Monday and to celebrate, Adidas gifted him a custom made pair from his new collection. The sneaker company’s ‘color and materials designer’, Charlie Kirihar, posted on Instagram the process behind making flashy trainers, which were covered in Swarovski crystals.
“Happy anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Mahomes! There were only two pairs of these adidas Mahomes 1 Impact FLX made to celebrate Patrick and Brittany’s big day”, said the designer on his Instagram.
The Chiefs quarterback was papped wearing the eye-catching sneakers in a video posted by his team on their social media accounts. ‘The shoes’ was the caption of the clip which was accompanied by a fire emoji.
The special edition trainers were a massive hit online, and thousands of fans left comments on the post. “These are sweet, Charlie!”, “So sick” and “Sheeeesh” were some of the top comments.
