America is one of the countries famous for the freedom of violence and weapons, so there is no shortage of terrible cases throughout history.
1. “Death Clown” John Wayne Gacy
Gacy is a serial killer who often disguises himself as a clown to attend children’s parties. By 1972, he had tortured, raped and killed 33 young girls over the course of 6 years.
Authorities discovered 26 corpses under Gacy’s home when investigating, and some were buried, dumped around the house or near the Des Plaines River. He was a nightmare disguised as a clown, and to this day, people are afraid of clowns for the same reason.
2. Ted Bundy
Handsome, elegant, but the most notorious serial killer in 20th century American history. Ted Bundy killed 36 women, or more. He is a true multi-faceted personality who acts very carefully and is good at manipulating others.
The murders and Ted Bundy himself became a rich subject for psychologists. In 1989, he was executed in the electric chair.
3. David Berkowitz – Demon Slayer
David is the killer who unleashed terror in 1970s New York City. He calls himself the “Son of Sam” (Sam’s son) in provocative letters to the police.
David has killed about 6 people, however, his cases are very controversial. There are many records and investigations that suggest that he may have belonged to a certain cult. He also killed people using the devil’s name, Satan. David could be in the line of making snuff movies – movies created by torture, real murder.
4. The Zodiac Murders
No one can answer who the Zodiac killer – Zodiac is. He haunted California throughout the ’60s and ’70s, leaving behind corpses and unsolvable cases.
The strangest thing about the Zodiac murders were the letters he sent to the California newspapers. There were many people who came forward to confess to the crime, but it was all fake. More frightening, he said that if the letters were not published, he would carry out a great massacre.
5. The Manson family
The cult of Charles Manson committed one of the most barbaric massacres in America. He calls various people to join his cult, and one night, under Manson’s direction, they attack a house in Los Angeles.
They killed five people in this house, including Sharon Tate – the wife of a film director, eight and a half months pregnant. There is also Abigail Folger, the heir to the Folger Coffee family.
This is considered the most notable case in Hollywood, in addition to the famous Black Thuoc Duoc case.
6. Ed Gein – body collector
Plainfield, Wisconsin is the home of this notorious, lone killer. After losing both his father and mother, he isolated himself on the family farm. He was obsessed with death and sick thoughts, began to kidnap women and kill them.
When investigators arrived at the farm, they found a house full of objects made from human corpses. Some were corpses he stole, some were made from his victims.
7. Black Dahlia
The Black Dahlia case of 1947 remains one of the most famous murder cases in America. The victim, dubbed “Black Dahlia”, was an actress named Elizabeth Short. Her body was cut in half, naked, and her mouth was slashed open. She was found by a housewife.
A total of nearly 200 people have been suspected in Elizabeth Short’s case. Several impostors also came forward to plead guilty, but investigators were never able to pinpoint the killer.
The Black Thuoc Duoc case has been featured in many movies and games. For nearly a century, it remained the most mysterious case in Hollywood.
