Leo Messi‘s sporting merits are infinite and being the best footballer on the planet has earned him a globally recognisable figure.
It is therefore not surprising that he has been featured in advertisements, is an icon in his country and has his own series.
As reported by television.com.ar, the PSG star is reportedly working with Sony to star in his own animated series. The agreement would be, more specifically, with Sony Music Entertainment, something curious if we take into account that it is the music subsidiary – as its name suggests – of the company.
According to the aforementioned media, Messi would be the star of the animated production, but he would not be alone. Several guest artists under contract with Sony Music will appear, although none of them have yet been named. It seems that the languages in which they will be dubbed have been confirmed: Spanish and English.
The Messi series is now official.
However, the idea is to expand to other countries through various translations. On another note, it seems that Messi himself is supervising the project, as this would be one of his childhood dreams.
“Since I was a child, I have always loved animated series and my children are big fans of animated characters,” said the Argentinean star. “Being able to participate in an animated project makes me happy, because it fulfils one of my dreams,” he said.
These words confirmed the news, but did not stop there. “I would like to thank Sony Music for joining this project and we hope everyone likes the result, especially the girls and boys,” said the reigning world champion when asked about it. There is still no word on a release date or name, but further details are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
It is worth remembering that during his time as a Barcelona player, the Catalan club dedicated a short animated film to him on their official networks, in which they recalled the history of the Argentine star up to that point.
