A viral snap of goalkeeping prospect Goodwill Yoosuk Simon Sabio has got football fans talking – due to his rather mature appearance as an 18-year-old.
Sabio has five caps for the South Sudan national U20 football team, who are currently competing at the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, helping his side to the quarter-finals.
However, social media users were left scratching their heads after seeing a snap of the South Sudan stopper, who they didn’t immediately assume was born in 2004.
One suspicious Twitter user said: “Dude is 46.” A second said: “Bro just retired and now everyone’s calling him an 18 year old.”
A third queried: “Bro’s 4th grandson was born in 2004.” A fourth posted: He’s been at his last job for 18 years alone.”
A fifth wrote: “If he is 18 then i am 15 days old.” A sixth agreed: “He looks older than my Dad.”

Playing at domestic level for Kator FC in the South Sudan Premier League, Sabio conceded two goals across three group fixtures with a clash against Gambia on Friday (March 3).
Sabio, who wears the number 23 shirt, will be hoping to help his side into the last four of the Egypt tournament with the final on March 11 at the Cairo International Stadium.
Having guided the team to their first ever appearance at the tournament, head coach Peter James was delighted that his team made it out of the group as the best third-placed side.

He said: “The Gambia is very strong with great players. We have 90 minutes to create an achievement, we want to give more pride to our country.
“We will play the match without pressure, without worrying about the result. We can surprise them but we have to be efficient.”
With the winners of the tournament qualifying for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Senegal and Nigeria are among the favourites having eased into the last four.
