Three months later, behind-the-scenes videos and photos of Jungkook’s preparations for the World Cup were released by BIGHIT MUSIC.
In the behind-the-scenes video, BTS’s Jungkook opens up about when he first found out he was invited to join the FIFA World Cup soundtrack and confessed his initial misunderstanding about his opening ceremony performance.
The beginning of the video showed Jungkook hard at work in the studio, effortlessly singing “Dreamers” despite thinking the chorus was too high for him.
In between recordings, he sat down for a candid interview where he shared that he was informed about singing the opening song for the World Cup via a text message from his company.
He surprisingly revealed that he initially assumed he would perform with his fellow BTS members. It wasn’t until later that he realized it was a solo project and “broke out in cold sweat.“
He hilariously hoped when he found out it was just him that he would only be recording the song, not performing it live.
The group’s maknae handled the performance like a true professional and happily embraced the honor of joining the line-up of impressive artists who have recorded songs for the World Cup.
The memorable performance was even more impressive, considering Jungkook didn’t receive the choreography until after he landed in Qatar, and changes were still made up until the final rehearsal.
The happiness on Jungkook voice as he said ‘singing the World Cup Song, my voice will be recorded in the World Cup history & it’s a huge honor’ is so clear. He made his country & the world so proud! This artist is my biggest pride, indeed.pic.twitter.com/nThHQpsMTL
