Chelsea accused of ‘bullying’ Hakim Ziyech over failed PSG move on deadline day

Chelsea have been accused of ‘bullying’ Hakim Ziyech following his failed move to Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day.

Ziyech had been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge after his lack of game-time under Graham Potter this season.

Newcastle United and Everton expressed an interest in signing the winger, with PSG reaching an agreement with the player over a loan deal.

However, the proposed transfer to the French giants dramatically collapsed on deadline day.

It’s claimed that the Blues sent the incorrect documents to PSG on THREE occasions, holding up the deal.

Ziyech, who performed heroics for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup, was in Paris ahead of being unveiled as a PSG player.

He sent messages to Chelsea owner Todd Boehly in a bid to revive the transfer, but to no avail.

Chelsea’s treatment of the 29-year-old has been slammed by one of their former players and managers in Ruud Gullit, who claims his former team’s misdealing was NOT a mistake.

He told Ziggo Sport: “This is not a mistake. It can’t be. If you get so many players and you do this two, three times… It can be bullying.

“Ziyech could also have been annoying. You don’t know. He will have to fight for his place again. In the end, it’s terrible for him.”

The Dutch legend added: “He should have left there a long time ago. The question is whether he would have played at Paris Saint-Germain. Then you end up in the same situation.”

Ziyech missed out on the chance to play alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, among others.

He’ll remain at Chelsea for the rest of the season following his botched move to PSG.

Graham Potter started Ziyech against Fulham as they drew goalless.

But he could lose his spot in the team to Joao Felix, who is available for selection against West Ham United after serving his three-match ban.
