He and his family have been living in Los Angeles for several years as he carved out an impressive Hollywood career.
But Chris Hemsworth, who has two-year-old daughter India and 10-month-old twin sons, Sasha and Tristan, with Spanish wife Elsa Pataky, has moved their family back to his native Australia.
The Thor star said he made the recent permanent relocation as he no longer needs to be based in Los Angeles to secure work.

Asked about the decision to leave California, Chris said: ‘We were in LA for six or seven years and then once we got the opportunity not to be there full-time, it was good to get back to Australia.
‘And it’s great. Quiet, coastal town – [it] couldn’t be further from Hollywood, which is nice. A nice break.’
The actor – who reportedly splashed out on a $7.2 million mansion in Byron Bay late last year – previously revealed he wanted his children to grow up in Australia
Last October, he said: ‘We’re spending more and more time back in Australia and I definitely want the kids to grow up here and spend time here.’
Meanwhile, Chris plays a hacker in his upcoming film, Blackhat, but couldn’t even type before he landed the role.
He told the Today show in the US: ‘I had the hunt-and-peck style of typing, which was pretty aggressive and unappealing.
‘But then [I] had to develop more fluid movements on the keyboard understand code and writing code. it was like being back in math computer science in school, which I wasn’t overly skilled at.’
Following the Sony hacking scandal, Chris no longer trusts computers and worries about being hacked even though he claims not to have any secrets.
He said: ‘Two years ago, when we researching the topic, these issues were present but there wasn’t the spotlight on them like there is now and the people we spoke to inside security, the government and big businesses said this stuff is coming, this is what’s going on, it exists, it is possible, and yeah, it made me keep my secrets up here [in my head] not on the computer anymore – not that I had any anyway.’
