Le Thi Tham (Dong Son, Thanh Hoa) was born not as healthy as her peers, without 2 arms, 2 legs, big and small, different heights. Although physically deficient, Tham has mental strength. There is always a burning energy in me, an extraordinary desire.
Without hands, Tham gradually trained her legs to take on many of the tasks that should have been reserved for the hands of an ordinary person. Write letters with her feet, draw pictures with her feet, use her feet to “hold” a comb, use her feet to “hold” a toothbrush, etc. Tham can do it all.
Remembering the difficult early days, Tham longed to go to school like many other children. “I will practice writing with my feet. Mom, I want to go to school like you,” Tham told her mother.
Writing by hand is hard, feet are harder. In addition, Tham’s right leg is shorter than her left foot, so she has to practice writing with her left foot. The fact that Tham can write words is unthinkable for most people.
Seeing her child’s feet blistered, painful, bleeding in each leg when learning to write, Tham’s mother was deeply saddened. Sometimes because I don’t want her to be in pain, she advises her not to try anymore, but Tham is still diligent, working day and night with the pen on her feet to practice writing,” Tinh added.
Write with your feet. But thanks to her mother’s perseverance and support, after a short time Tham could read and write the letters fluently. Looking at the inscriptions and certificates of merit hanging on the wall, few people know that in order to do that miracle, since childhood Tham has spent many months of arduous training. With extraordinary energy, not allowing herself to fall in the face of difficulties, the “penguin” girl graduated from high school with a remarkable record of 12 consecutive years as a good student. Not only that, in the 5th grade, Tham also won the excellent handwriting contest, in 2007 won the second prize in the drawing contest in Thanh Hoa province.
In 2016, Tham decided to enter the English pedagogy department, Hong Duc University. During the years of studying here, Tham was always a good student of the school and received a scholarship.
Hopefully, children in the countryside can speak English fluently, with the belief that they will live and contribute like many people. And nearly 4 years ago, Tham opened a free English class for disadvantaged children.
Despite suffering many disadvantages, Tham always shows an optimistic and enthusiastic spirit at work. For Tham, happiness is teaching the children in the neighborhood every day, helping them to make progress and achieve high results in their studies. I hope that in the future, I will have the conditions to help the children learn better.
Admiring Tham’s story, especially his enthusiasm for poor students in the countryside, the program of Connecting Love with Dr Thanh’s Thanh Thanh Tea brand of Tan Hiep Phat Group sent to Tham a gift. the gift with the belief to help the class grow more and more, to guide many students with difficult circumstances to rise up in life.
Having accompanied the program through 21 broadcasts, Ms. Tran Uyen Phuong – Deputy General Director of Tan Hiep Phat Group shared: “I feel a very strong energy from each character in the program Connect to the full. love. Although each person has different circumstances, but when faced with events and difficulties in life, you always have faith and love your life, as well as inspire me and everyone. Hopefully, Tan Hiep Phat’s gift will be a recognition and help you more in life.”
