It’s important to know when you can’t win a fight.
And in these times, it’s even more important to be willing to ask for help.
Take note from four-month-old Cavapoo Louie, who quickly realised he wouldn’t be able to tackle his feline housemate alone – so calls for backup.
Louie was trying to walk into the bathroom of his house in New York when his owner’s cat, Marvin, decided to attack.
Marvin smacked Louie on the head and posed with his paws ready for a further punch-up. After yelping in pain, Louie realised he hadn’t got a chance in this particular battle and retreated… only to return a few seconds later with back-up, in the form of much bigger dog, one-year-old Leela.
It’s good to know when to retreat from a fight
The move has highly effective, as video shows Marvin jumping up into the sink the moment he sees Leela approaching.
As a result, Louie was able to pass through into the room with no trouble, all thanks to his bodyguard.
Dog completely ignored new owner until she started talking Spanish
The woman filming then exclaims at her cat: ‘Oh yeah, he brings in the big guns and you run!’
Hey, we think that’s the right call. Like we said – it’s honourable to know when you’re in a fight you just can’t win and to retreat when that’s the case… even if you started it.
