Manchester City were hailed for their ‘sensational’ and ‘liquid football’ as they turned on the style during their FA Cup triumph over Chelsea.
The Premier League champions cruised to a 4-0 win over Chelsea in a tie that saw City race to a 3-0 lead at half time.

Riyad Mahrez opened the scoring on 23 minutes with a stunning free-kick before Julian Alvarez’s penalty doubled their advantage on 30 minutes after Kai Havertz inexplicably handled the ball inside the box.
Phil Foden then made it 3-0 as he rounded off a spell-binding move, which left talkSPORT’s Nigel Adderley and Dean Ashton purring.
“That is absolutely brilliant from Manchester City, exhibition stuff, but they always find a finish, this time it’s Phil Foden to round off one of the team goals of the season,” Adderley said on commentary.
“For Manchester City that was one right out of the top drawer.
“It’s simply sensational. It’s proper liquid football, it’s just brilliant,” Ashton added.
Riyad Mahrez then sealed the 4-0 win as City were awarded another penalty on 85 minutes.

As poor as Chelsea were at the Etihad Stadium, City were very much at it despite Pep Guardiola making a series of changes from their victory over the Blues in the Premier League on Thursday night.
Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne, Ederson, Ilkay Gundogan, John Stones and Joao Cancelo were also on the bench, with Cancelo, Kalvin Phillips and Rico Lewis the only substitutes to be used by Guardiola.
