Kim Kardashian and her nine-year-old daughter North West launched their very own TikTok account last November and currently boast 12million followers.
But to protect her little girl from the dangers of social media, the 41-year-old reality TV star has put a number of rules in place.
She shared with Gwyneth Paltrow on the GOOP podcast that North doesn’t have free reign over the account and all comment sections on her posts are turned off.
Live on TikTok! Kim Kardashian and her nine-year-old daughter North West launched their very own TikTok account last November and currently boast 12million followers
Kim’s ex-husband Kanye West, 45, previously voiced his disapproval regarding the account, with one since-deleted Instagram post stating: ‘My children ain’t going to be on TikTok without my permission.’
The former couple – who split last year and finalized their divorce in November – also share daughter Chicago, four, and sons Saint, seven, and Psalm, three.
Despite the contention, North was never removed from TikTok and she continues to post to the account on a near daily basis.
Kim explained to Gwyneth that it’s hard to keep North off the platform when all of her cousins and peers are on TikTok.

She also noted that every family’s approach to monitoring their children’s social media differs, some are more lenient while others rule with an iron fist.
‘I think every family is different, even within my family. How Kourtney operates, how Khloé operates, how Kylie — we always say every family is different,’ she told the host.
Kim continued: ‘With social media, it is hard because all the cousins, all my nieces and nephews, they’re all best friends with my kids. They’re all the same ages.’
‘So if [North’s cousin] Penelope has a TikTok, North wants a TikTok, and all the girls at school have a TikTok.’

Kim noted that Kanye was involved in setting some of the boundaries for their daughter’s account, though he still does not support her having a TikTok.
‘However, I have made a rule with their dad about it — he’s not happy about that. I respect that,’ she said.
For one, Kim stated that the TikTok app can ‘only be on my phone’ as to prevent North from potentially coming across an inappropriate or harmful post.
‘It’s not something where she can scroll and look at things,’ the SKIMS founder explained, adding: ‘We don’t do comments.’

Unlike TikTok, North’s Instagram account for their beloved pet Pomeranians gave people ‘too much access’ and ‘only lasted like two days.
‘I found a groove with her TikTok, as long as it’s me and her together and I’m there. That works for now. But it’s a crazy world, I don’t deny that.’
TikTok has became a major outlet for North’s creativity, which includes a new found passion for special FX makeup artistry.

The pre-teen also gives fans a look at her family’s lavish lifestyle, such as their extravagant Thanksgiving feast and annual Christmas Eve bash.
‘The way that she is so creative, the way that she loves to do TikTok and do these videos, and she’ll take my phone and do skincare stuff,’ Kim gushed.
‘She loves special effects makeup, so she’ll be doing scars and faces and bullet wounds. She takes classes on it and that’s what she loves to do so she loves to show it.’
Kim stressed that making videos and indulging her passions makes North ‘so happy, and she’s so innocent in so many ways.’

The SKKN CEO called her daughter the ‘best director’ while marveling over how easily she picked up video editing and photoshopping over the years.
‘She loves to do this stuff. I take it as more of a creative thing. As long as it’s age appropriate and they’re having fun.
Kim added: ‘If they’re monitored, I’m okay with that.’
