Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie, is getting candid about his relationship with his famous father.

“Thank you, Dad, for believing in me in times when I didn’t even believe in myself, and for all the times when you have supported me no matter what I do,” Charlie, 16, wrote via the American Junior Golf Association on Instagram Sunday, June 15, in honor of Father’s Day. “Even though we argue a lot, I still cherish every moment and I would just like to say thank you for everything you have done for me.”

Tiger, 49, shares Charlie and his older sister Sam, 17, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren.

While the pair may not always see eye-to-eye, Charlie has joined his father on the golf course a time or two. In December 2024, Tiger had both his children by his side while competing at the PNC Championship in Orlando, Florida. Charlie played with his dad while Sam served as caddy.

“To be out here in this environment and to have fun like this – it doesn’t get any better,” Woods told NBC of sharing the course with his son. “This week is for each other, and we’re just rooting so hard for each of us to pull off each shot that we want.”

“We’re trying to pull off each and every shot for each other, and to ham-and-egg,” Tiger said, according to the outlet. “And I think we did that great pretty much the entire day. We picked each other up, which was great. And Charlie made pretty much most of the putts today.”

In addition to his two children, Tiger is also getting to know the children of girlfriend Vanessa Trump. Kai, 17, is the eldest child of Vanessa and Donald Jr., both 47. The couple, who divorced in 2018, also share Donald III, 16, Tristan, 13, Spencer, 12, and Chloe, 10. The golfer was seen with Vanessa and Kai at the Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla, California, in February.

He was not competing in the tournament, which took place soon after the unexpected death of his mother Kultilda in the same month. He also announced back in March that he had ruptured his Achilles tendon, an injury that meant his return to the golf course would be further delayed.

“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured,” he explained via Instagram at the time. “I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support.”

The tournament was a rare public appearance by the typically private pair. “They just love hanging out, having dinner and schmoozing together,” a source told the Daily Mail. “They’re sticking close to home, have decided not to make it a thing and go out in public. Not just yet anyway.”
