The Ford family was spotted attending TGL matches earlier this year, adding fuel to the speculation. Now, an insider has leaked crucial information on it, and fans are gobbling it up.
Mike Sullivan, Founder of Metro Detroit Golfers, took it to X to share the breaking news that TGL is set to announce its first expansion team, the Motor City Golf Club, representing Detroit, which will kick off play in the league’s third season in 2027. The ownership group is an impressive lineup, led by Michael Hamp and Middle West Partners, alongside Sheila Ford Hamp and other notable names in the business.

At the time of updating the article, the official TGL X page confirmed the news, writing, “Introducing Motor City Golf Club, TGL’s newest team. Debuting in 2027”, in their latest post. Michael Hamp, co-owner of Middle West Partners and Motor City Golf Club’s new team governor, expressed his excitement, saying, “This is a great moment for Detroit sports and a proud moment for me personally… I’m incredibly grateful for our partners at MCGC – it’s an honor to build this team together.”

The ownership group, which includes Rob Walton, owner of the Denver Broncos, and Jordan Rose, president and founder of Rose Law Group, shares a vision for Motor City Golf Club, aligning with TGL’s platform and the future of golf.
