The high school senior competed in four events in her second state championship of 2025. She also won the Florida state championship title in football earlier this year.

Sam Woods, 17-year-old daughter of golf legend Tiger Woods, has wrapped up her high school track and field career by helping her team win a state championship.

A senior student at The Benjamin School of Palm Beach Gardens, Woods competed in four events to take her team to the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Class 1A girls athletics title on 10 May.

The competition took place at the University of North Florida’s Hodges Stadium, approximately 15 kilometres from The Players Stadium Course where her father won two titles in the PGA Tour, in 2001 and 2013. Tiger Woods has won a total of 16 PGA titles in Florida, the most he has won in any state.

Woods ran the third leg in the 4x800m relay, helping Benjamin secure second place in the event, and also ran the third leg in the 4x400m relay, where her school finished fourth. She also took part in two individual events, the 100m hurdles and the 400m hurdles, in which she placed 18th and 17th, respectively. These placements did not score points.

The points Benjamin School picked up in the relay races, however, were enough to boost their overall total and win the state championship in Class 1A.

In addition to taking part in track and field, Woods played as central defender for Benjamin’s girls varsity football (soccer) team and scored the winning goal when they won the 2025 state championship in March.

Sam Woods can often be spotted serving as a caddie for her father and younger brother Charlie, but has no plans to take up professional golf herself.

The PGA Tour has officially broken its silence! The organization has decided to sanction Robert MacIntyre following controversial allegations of cheating and defamation of Scottie Scheffler at the 2025 BMW Championship. This is considered a tough move, sending a clear message that the PGA Tour will not tolerate any behavior that affects the reputation and transparency of the tournament.

PGA CHAOS Erupts! USGA President Mike Whan has finally spoken out, standing by Scottie Scheffler amid the furor at the BMW Championship 2025. In a stunning decision, Whan stressed that “insults and abusive behavior have no place in elite golf,” and fined Robert MacIntyre a hefty sum for publicly humiliating Scheffler — sending shockwaves through the global golfing world.
