Turns out not even Tiger Woods is immune. Immune from son’s savage taunts. At 15, Charlie Woods might have a long way to go to catch up his father. But if there is one thing where he has already matched him (some would argue, exceeded) that’s smack talk. The world got an early glimpse of it at the PNC Championship few years back. Now, even the 82-time PGA Tour winner has to endure.
Tiger Woods descended on the (indoor) greens at SoFi Center among rising applause. Survivor’s ‘Eye of Tiger’ was playing in the background. “Are you ready for this?” the 49-year-old roared. One person wasn’t ready, so to speak. And that would be… yes, you guessed it right, Charlie Woods.
The 15-year-old looked mortified. Perhaps, a tad bit, but the youngster didn’t find it very appealing that his father’s walkout song was perhaps the most… obvious one? The Internet somewhat relates to him. One user tweeted, “Tiger’s TGL entry walk… Serena looks appalled. Charlie looks mortified. I’m here for all of it!” But it was just the start.

The debut could’ve been more impressive. Woods did throw the hammer even before hitting the first shot. But there were a handful of blunders from him and his teammates, which gave the Los Angeles GC an early advantage. The former world no.1 actually sailed a wedge way past the green from 101 yards.
It plunged into the water. TV cameras caught Charlie almost laughing in astonishment. “Charlie’s reaction to Tiger airmailing the green must be what my dad was like during every one of my high school golf matches,” commented one user. Another chimed in, “Charlie Woods mocking Tiger Woods is absolutely hilarious.”

At this point, it won’t be an exaggeration to say Woods perhaps should’ve brought Charlie as his caddie on the greens. For those little smack talks.
