Tiger Woods has not featured on the PGA Tour since The Open Championship in July, with the 15-time major champion expected to return to action in December.

Tiger Woods was spotted with his former wife Elin Nordegren this week, as they attended Miami Shores Country Club to support their son Charlie during a High School tournament.

Woods and Nordegren, who share two children Sam and Charlie, parted ways in 2010 after nearly six years of marriage. Despite their split, the pair continue to co-parent, and were seen together supporting their youngest child, according to The Palm Beach Post.

Charlie was competing for The Benjamin School in Monday’s Class 1A Region 4 tournament, aiming to retain the state title they clinched in 2023.

After triumphing at district level last month, Woods Jr and his schoolmates faced challenging conditions at Miami Shores, ultimately finishing four shots behind Fort Lauderdale Pine Crest. According to the report, Woods Sr followed his son’s progress around the course on a cart.

Interaction between father and son was minimal, with Tiger appearing eager to let his son concentrate on his performance. The offspring of the 15-time major champion delivered a commendable individual performance, finishing the tournament tied for sixth, being one of six players to achieve level-par.

Benjamin coach Toby Harbeck spoke about Woods Jr’s performance to The Palm Beach Post at regionals, stating: “He’s tough on himself. If he could just relax and play, store some of that energy, it’s good. He’s just young. He’s got a lot of Dad in him.”

Woods Sr has been absent from competitive play since The Open Championship at Royal Troon in July, where the 48 year old failed to make the cut amid harsh conditions on the Scottish coast. This marked just his fifth appearance of the season, as he continues to juggle a part-time schedule due to ongoing health issues.

Despite participating in all four majors this season, Woods struggled to recapture the form that has earned him 15 major victories, making the cut only once at the Masters in April. The 82-time PGA Tour champion also missed the cut at the PGA Championship, US Open, and The Open.

Aside from the four majors, Woods made just one other start at the Genesis Invitational in February, which he also hosted. However, his participation was cut short when he was forced to withdraw midway through his second round due to illness.

Despite his limited schedule, Woods is set to return to the PGA Tour once more before the year ends, again balancing playing with hosting duties at the Hero World Challenge. The Jupiter resident also confirmed his participation in the parent-child event at the PNC Championship.

“I’m not going to play until [The Hero],” Woods announced at Troon during the summer. “I’m going to just keep getting physically better and keep working on it. Hopefully just come back for our, our fifth major, the Father-Son [PNC Championship], so looking forward to it.”
