One Piece: Meaningless things about celestial dragons

The Celestial Dragons are great antagonists in One Piece, but they don’t always make sense.

The Celestial Dragons, also known as the World Nobles, are some of the most powerful people in the world of One Piece. Known to the descendants of the creators of the world, they are considered to be the gods of the world by many and, as such, have an unmatched hold over the world.

The Celestial Dragons are also one of the main antagonistic groups in the story and quite possibly the biggest one. Although Oda has written them incredibly well as antagonists, there are quite a few things about them that don’t make sense, at least for now.

10The Celestial Dragons Wear Space Suits At All Times

Most of the Celestial Dragons in One Piece are seen wearing space suits at all times, regardless of whether they’re at Mariejois or on the surface below. When Charloss and his family were introduced during the Sabaody Archipelago arc, they wore the very same space suits that they wore in Mariejois during the Reverie. There is likely a reason behind why they wear this attire, but for now, it simply makes no sense at all.

9The Celestial Dragons Have A Very Particular Hairstyle

The Celestial Dragons have quite a lot of similarities when it comes to their appearance. Just like their attire, their hairstyles are also very similar. Almost all the Celestial Dragons seen in the story have hair that is curled up. The reasoning behind this remains unknown, but the fact that almost every single member of the group has stuck to this hairstyle makes absolutely no sense at the moment.

8The Gorosei Don’t Wear The Common Attire Of The Celestial Dragons

When it comes to the Celestial Dragons, the Gorosei, also known as the Five Elder Stars, are a cut above the rest. They work directly under Imu, the person who sits on the Empty Throne. The Gorosei have a higher authority than any of the Celestial Dragons, and they also dress very differently. No member of the Gorosei wears a spacesuit. At the same time, their hairstyles are different as well, and not a single person has curled-up hair despite having the same bloodline as the other Celestial Dragons.

7There Are Very Few Kind People Among The Celestial Dragons

The entirety of Mariejois is filled with Celestial Dragons, but almost all of them possess the same cruel hearts that fans saw in Roswald and Mjosgard. So far, only Donquixote Homing and his wife have appeared as kind Celestial Dragons.

Donquixote Mjosgard had a change of heart after being saved by Queen Otohime at Fishman Island. Currently, not a single Celestial Dragon alive other than Mjosgard is known to be kind, which doesn’t make sense given their numbers come from 20 different kingdoms.

6The Celestial Dragons Were At God Valley

38 years ago, one of the biggest incidents in the One Piece world took place, and it shook the world to its very foundation. Led by Rocks D. Xebec, the Rocks Pirates attacked God Valley, where the Celestial Dragons were for some reason. This is rather strange because aside from Sabaody Archipelago, which happens to have its slave auction and is very close to the Red Line, the Celestial Dragons have not stepped foot on any other place in the world. Yet, they were attacked by Xebec 38 years ago on a very mysterious island.

5They Have A Hidden Treasure In The Holy Land Of Mariejois

The Celestial Dragons are some of the most senseless people in the One Piece world, yet they possess what Donquixote Doflamingo describes to be an incredible treasure. According to Doflamingo, if the world finds out about the existence of the treasure, it’ll be shaken to its very core. Given that they’re extremely careless and don’t care about the consequences of their actions, it is quite a surprise that the Celestial Dragons have managed to keep it a secret for centuries.

4All Celestial Dragons Carry Firearms But Can’t Use Them

Every Celestial Dragon in One Piece is seen carrying firearms, such as pistols. They often threaten people with them, but they are extremely bad at using them, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that these weapons are completely wasted on them.

One would think that after having carried weapons for generations, they would have decent skill with these weapons, but they remain to be some of the worst weapon users in One Piece.

3The Celestial Dragons Can Afford Devil Fruits But Haven’t Eaten Any

The Celestial Dragons have great power in the One Piece world, and they also have access to all sorts of Devil Fruits. This was confirmed when they fed the Boa sisters their Devil Fruits for the purpose of their sick entertainment. Despite that, no Celestial Dragon so far has eaten any Devil Fruit, which is extremely weird. Donquixote Doflamingo and Donquixote Rosinante were Devil Fruit users, but they ate their fruits as former Celestial Dragons after having left Mariejois.

2All Celestial Dragons Have The Same Speaking Manners

The Celestial Dragons consist of people from 20 different kingdoms, meaning there is bound to be quite a lot of diversity there. However, they all have very similar speaking manners. In fact, almost all Celestial Dragons talk the same way and end their sentences with the word “eh.” It’s unknown what the exact reasoning is, and there doesn’t appear to be any logic behind this as they come from various places in the world.

1The Celestial Dragons Have Very Low Intelligence

All Celestial Dragons have tremendous power up their sleeve. They can buy everything they want, from islands to people. The Admirals are at their beck and call all the time, as are the CP0, the strongest of the Cipher Pol units. However, despite having all that power, they don’t have minds that can utilize them. For some reason, almost all the Celestial Dragons introduced in the story aren’t shown to be very smart. At the moment, this doesn’t make much sense, but there is likely a reason behind this.
