One Piece: Devil Fruits That Are Perfect For The Situation

These Devil Fruits are only useful under very specific circumstances.

At the beginning of One Piece, Devil Fruits were portrayed as extremely rare objects that bestowed extraordinary powers upon their users. Since then, the notion around them has changed a lot. Oda has introduced tons of different Devil Fruits that grant different powers.

With the availability of so many Devil Fruits, it is not ideal to make all of them powerful. There have to be some Devil Fruits that are not as powerful or useful as the rest. Such Devil Fruits are highly situational and can only work after certain conditions have been met. They have limitations on their powers, making them a bit less appealing than the other Devil Fruits found in One Piece.

7Fuku Fuku no Mi

The Fuku Fuku no Mi was eaten by Kin’emon, one of Oden’s retainers. The Devil Fruit allows Kin’emon to create clothes out of leaves. In order to create the apparel, Kin’emon needs to put a stone or a leaf on the head of an individual.

After this step comes the visualization, and once that is done, the clothes appear on the body of the individual. The Devil Fruit is certainly useful, but only in certain situations, such as infiltration, or spying. In a confrontation, the Devil Fruit is useless as it doesn’t enhance the physical abilities of the user.

6Guru Guru no Mi

The Guru Guru no Mi is best known for giving the power of flight. The Devil Fruit creates propellors around the body of the user, allowing them to fly to different places. Buffalo used the Guru Guru no Mi’s power to travel to Punk Hazard along with Baby 5, where they were easily defeated by the heroes.

Aside from its ability to fly, the Devil Fruit is useless in most situations. Maybe under a different wielder, its powers would have been more impressive.

5Jake Jake no Mi

The Jake Jake no Mi has a case of being the worst Devil Fruit in the entire series. It was introduced in the Dressrosa arc during the Corrida Colosseum tournament. The Devil Fruit belongs to Kelly Funk, who uses it to turn into a jacket that can be worn by other people.

Kelly Funk used the Devil Fruit’s power to become a jacket and asked his brother, Bobby, to put it on. Once Bobby wore the jacket, Kelly Funk managed to take over his body. The Devil Fruit only seems to work if Kelly Funk can find a willing host. Otherwise, he will just turn into a jacket with no fighting ability. So, the Jake Jake no Mi requires several conditions to be met before actually becoming useful.

4Sabi Sabi no Mi

The Sabi Sabi no Mi is the Devil Fruit of Shu. It is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows its user to create rust. This gives Shu a distinct advantage over swordsmen, but other than that, the Devil Fruit doesn’t offer much.

It doesn’t bolster his physical abilities or give him any additional powers. This makes the Sabi Sabi no Mi a highly situational Devil Fruit.

3Kibi Kibi no Mi

The Kibi Kibi no Mi belongs to Kurozumi O-Tama. The Devil Fruit allows her to create dango from her cheeks, which doesn’t seem like an interesting power at first glance. However, on closer inspection, it becomes evident that Tama’s Devil Fruit has insane potential under the right circumstances.

The dango that she creates is able to tame animals and people who are part-animal. She was able to utilize this power during the Onigashima raid and turn the tide of the battle. In order to control the target, Tama needs to feed the dango to them directly. If she has no way of feeding them, the Devil Fruit will be useless. Another limitation of the Devil Fruit is that it doesn’t work on natural Zoan users.

2Urouge’s Devil Fruit

Urouge is one of the members of the Worst Generation. He is the captain of the Fallen Monk Pirates. Urouge possesses an unnamed Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, which changes any damage that he receives into physical power. The Devil Fruit is undoubtedly strong, but it only works if Urouge receives physical damage.

An attack from a Logia-type Devil Fruit user such as Kizaru will simply damage Urouge and will not increase his physical strength. Due to Urouge’s limited screen time, it is hard to know whether he has managed to overcome the weakness or whether things are still the same.

1Toki Toki no Mi

The Toki Toki no Mi is a very rare Devil Fruit that was eaten by Kozuki Toki, the wife of Oden. It is a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allowed her to travel to the future, which is an undoubtedly strong ability. However, Toki could only travel to the future, meaning if she wanted to go back into the past, she couldn’t.

Obviously, Toki was successful in her mission to reach Wano at the correct time. But it is hard to ignore the fact that if she had gone slightly ahead into the future, her plans would have been completely ruined. If the Toki Toki no Mi enabled its user to travel back and forth, it would be extremely overpowered and not as limited.
