LeBron James’ career is over, according to league personnel. After Game 3’s defeat, many people think The Star’s reign is over.

Superstar LeBron James is generally considered one of the best players in the league, and there’s no doubt that he’s a versatile all-around offensive player. However, he is clearly not the same player that he once was in his prime.

In Game 3 against the Denver Nuggets, LeBron James put up 23 points and 12 assists. For a lot of players, that would be a fine performance, but many people expected more from a player that has dominated the league in his prime. NBA insider Brian Windhorst revealed that people around the league have been texting him, and saying that the Game 3 loss was “the end” for LeBron James. (16:00)

“This Is The End For LeBron James”: League Personnel Believe That His Reign Is Over After Game 3 Loss

“I got people texting me. ‘Well, this is the end for LeBron. This is the end for LeBron,'” Windhorst said. “I’m like, OK, I realize it’s not 2018 LeBron. I’ll take my hat off, but he went for 23 and 12. I agree, it’s not the guy who would go for 38, 17, and 12.”

In the playoffs, LeBron James was hampered by a well-documented foot injury, and it is possible that this was the reason he didn’t perform at the level that most are accustomed to. However, at the same time, everyone is playing through something in the playoffs, and the production decline might just be a result of age.

LeBron James has put up 23.5 PPG, 9.9 RPG, and 6.3 APG in the postseason for the Los Angeles Lakers, and while his rebounding and playmaking have been elite, his scoring has definitely taken a hit. The Lakers will need him to do more in that department if they are to have a chance of coming back against the Nuggets, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

LeBron James Is Taking Things One Game At A Time

When one has to come back from a deficit like the one the Lakers are facing right now, the key is to focus on winning one game at a time. In fact, LeBron James previously stated that the goal is to “focus on Game 4”.

“Just gotta get one. One at a time. Just focus on Game 4. That’s all you can think about.”

No team has ever come down from a 3-0 deficit before, and it is hard to see the Los Angeles Lakers doing so. Hopefully, we see them at least put up a fight, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
