Jonathan Majors is in boiling hot water right now. The Marvel star was arrested in late March on charges of physically attacking a woman during a domestic dispute. Since then his career has been in jeopardy. He has been dropped by two management services, a film, and at least two advertisements. There are also rumors of Marvel thinking about replacing him as Kang.
His fans online have also seemingly retracted their support for him since the allegations came out. However, many have noticed a double standard. People believe that DC’s Ezra Miller who has been accused of several crimes isn’t receiving the same level of vitriol or career ruin as Majors.
Jonathan Majors vs Ezra Miller: Is There A Double Standard?
Jonathan Majors as Kang
Deadline reported that Jonathan Majors appeared virtually at the Manhattan criminal court six weeks after he was released from his NYPD arrest. The site reported that if convicted he could face up to a year of prison term. Here’s what the outlet wrote:
“Appearing virtually for the hearing the Creed III actor saw the Manhattan District Attorney’s office make public a superseding complaint with a charge of third-degree assault. The class A misdemeanor has a maximum possible sentence of 12 months behind bars or a three-year probation term.”

The next hearing has been set for 13 June and Majors will have to show up in person then. The judge warned that the consequence will be drastic if he fails to appear. Deadline reported the judge saying, “If you fail to appear in court on June 13 a warrant can be issued for your arrest within 48 hours and if you’re brought back on the warrant, the next judge can revoke and even set bail. I obviously don’t want that to happen.”
Majors’ lawyer Priya Chaudhry didn’t hold back regarding her assessment of the case. She said: “This is a witch hunt against Jonathan Majors, driven by baseless claims. Instead of dismissing the allegations in the face of the woman’s clear lies, the DA has adjusted the charges to match the woman’s new lies… Now, we have obtained even more video evidence of his innocence, but we are hesitant to share it, for fear the DA will tip the woman off to change her story again.”
Ezra Miller
Things aren’t looking positive right now for Majors. But that doesn’t seem to be the case for His DC counterpart, Ezra Miller. The Flash star previously faced arrests due to being involved in public altercations and misconduct. Also, restraining orders were filed against the actor by two neighbors. Additionally, the actor was caught on video attempting to choke a woman in Iceland. That’s not all.
Miller was also accused of stealing, burglary, as well as grooming. But they weren’t seriously charged for it and people have noticed the double standards between the two cases.

Ezra Miller in The Flash
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Ezra Miller’s The Flash co-star, Michael Shannon, spoke highly of the star and even defended him. He said, “I thought Ezra was lovely—very kind to me when I was there (filming The Flash). It’s difficult to talk about, but I always give people a lot of slack in this business, because there are a lot of people in this business that have issues… Any time somebody is out in the spotlight getting picked on, I feel for them. Even if it’s warranted, it’s still a horrible situation.”
Till now, not one of Jonathan Majors has spoken about him in public. As such, after looking at the two situations, here’s what people are saying:

Also, in contrast to the one-year prison term the Marvel villain is facing, Miller will serve a year of probation plus a $500 fine with a surcharge of $192 on top of it. It is as per a plea deal the star reached in 2022 where they pled guilty to unlawful misdemeanor trespass charges. Vanity Fair reported that Miller had reportedly paid off their alleged victims and made them sign NDAs. All these were done to make the actor’s problems disappear pretty much overnight.
As for Majors, the text messages exchanged between him and the alleged victim were released to the public. These were supposed to exonerate him in the public eye, but they seemed to have the opposite effect. It now remains to be seen what happens to Majors during the next hearing.
