Tom Cruise is the leading actor in the Hollywood industry who is known for his extravagant high-risk action stunts that have even awed stunt specialists. To think that an actor would go beyond his limits to get a taste of what action feels like is completely surprising and fans love that about him. However, his life was almost at stake when the actor decided to take a gear back to get directly involved in action sequences.

The actor starred alongside Emily Blunt in the 2014 film, the Edge of Tomorrow. While the former is often seen leading the action stunts, there was a car scene that saw him in the passenger seat with Blunt behind the wheels.

The 40-year-old actress, Emily Blunt while promoting her then-new film, Edge of Tomorrow appeared on Conan TBS Show. She talked about filming a car chase scene which included a minivan that took quiet off the way. While the first take was not good, the film director, Doug Liman called for a second take in which she was instructed to “go a bit faster.”
While her car would go fast, she then had to take a right-hand turn that would affect the minivan to shake. As she was the one behind the wheels, her co-star, Tom Cruise was sitting in the passenger seat.
She shared in the interview,
“I tear down this part and Tom’s being very quiet behind me I hear him under his breath as I approach the right-hand turn, going ‘Brake, brake, brake. Brake. Brake, brake, brake… Oh God. Brake, brake, brake. Brake it hard! Brake hard!’”
She continued,
“I left it too late, and so drove us into a tree … I almost killed Tom Cruise.’”

While the duo had gone through quite a hectic incident at the time, Blunt recalled that the incident was hilarious as well as terrifying for her as she almost killed her co-star back then. But it didn’t bother the duo as they closed the chapter by laughing off at that experience.
The film has been adapted from Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s 2004 Japanese novel All You Need Is Kill, which takes place in a future that has been occupied by aliens. Cruise’s character, Major William Cage eventually gets into a landing operation against the aliens which later on gets complicated as he experiences a time loop as he tries to find a way to defeat the invaders.
The film grossed over $370.5 million worldwide in its theatrical run which is now available on Netflix.
