Selena Gomez’s stalker has been jailed.
Juan Garcia, 19 – who was arrested after being found outside the singer’s Tarzana, California home at the end of January – pled no contest in court on Friday but was convicted of trespassing.
TMZ reports he will spend 120 days in Los Angeles County Jail, has been ordered to stay 150 yards away from Selena, 21, on his release and will be on a three-year probation.
Law enforcement officials previously confirmed that a family member inside Gomez’s home placed the call to 911, saying they had seen a young man lurking outside.
Garcia told officers he was there to ‘see the singer in person’, though it’s not known if Selena was actually home during the time of the incident.
This isn’t the first time the star has been allegedly stalked by a deranged fan.
In 2011, the then-teenager was stalked on multiple occasions by 48-year-old Thomas Brodnicki, who flew to LA from Chicago to meet the actress he claims is his soul mate.
Following several attempts to get a restraining order against the mentally unstable man, she was finally granted a three-year protection order after her accused issued a declaration that the stunning brunette did indeed need to be protected from him.
It’s a very unsettling time right now for the star as it has just been revealed by Star magazine that she went to rehab last month.
The star – who has an on/off relationship with Justin Bieber – was admitted to Dawn at The Meadows recovery centre in Arizona on January 5, and spent two weeks at the facility, which treats people aged 18 to 26 years old who are ‘struggling with emotional trauma, addiction or dual diagnosis concerns.’
Her representative told MailOnline: ‘Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but NOT for substance abuse.’
Meanwhile, TMZ alleged that Selena blames her ex Justin for her ‘predicament’.
Another source told Radar: ‘Her friends and family became increasingly worried that there might be a serious problem with Selena.
‘Particularly, her parents. The partying was, at times, wild. They wanted to help her – and they very much encouraged her to go to rehab. Others very close to her also urged her to seek professional help.’
Another added: ‘It’s important to remember that Selena had worked in Hollywood non-stop for six years. She was exhausted. Selena was smart enough to understand that she needed to take control of her life.
‘It just got to a point where she needed to get out of Los Angeles, get away from ‘the scene’ and the pressures of Hollywood, to also get away from those who had, admittedly, become a bad influence on her.
‘Selena needed to take the opportunity to work on herself. She realised she needed help.’
