One of Senegal’s most well-known athletes, Sadio Mane, is a world-renowned striker who won the Champions League and the African Cup of Nations.
The Senegalese artisan who created Sadio Mane’s statue may be found in the 30-year-old player’s hometown of Bambali.
Sadio Mane’s shirt from the Senegal national team is displayed on a statue. In honor of the former Liverpool player who inspired his nation to victory at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualification.
The statue, however, does not resemble Sadio Mane very much, which is the issue. This is what angers Bayern Munich supporters.
Senegal holds strong regard for Sadio Mane. The explanation for this is that he consistently donates a portion of his football salary to local causes in his community, such as funding for medical and educational facilities.
One fan commented: “It’s not the best, but it’s made from the heart I guess,” while another wrote: “Nice body work but on the face, let them replace it with a better head. Anyway, wood maybe hard to work with, I think.”
A third said: “It’s all about recognition. Not everyone will have the privilege of being recognised and honoured like that.”
