The Reddit post writes, “A family friend builds movie sets, doesn’t design, is one of the poor dudes that just builds. Anyways he worked on the set for the Matrix and Keanu heard about family trouble he was having and gave him a $20,000 Christmas bonus to help him out.”
“He also was one of the only people on the set that genuinely wanted to know peoples names, would say hello and mean it, and would talk to people as they were his peers and not below him just because they were practically making nothing to build a set.”

A movie theater employee was in for an experience of a lifetime during The Matrix premiere. According to the employee, he saw all the stars walk in, and none acknowledged his presence, excerpt for one man that is… you guessed it.
The fan recalls, “I met Keanu about 16 years ago at the premier of the Matrix movie in NYC. I worked at the movie theater as a cleaner and server. The entire night, I saw all the stars in the movie come and go without any of them looking at me or saying hello to me, perhaps because of my color and the cheap uniform I had on.”
“For 16 years, I have never forgotten the event that will follow the first few hours after I begun my shift at work that evening. Keanu walked up to me and asked me how I was doing!! I said to myself “are you really talking to me?” Believe it or not, he actually came up to me and showed compassion and care. That was the last thing I ever expected anyone to do that evening.”

Not only did Keanu approach the fan, but he would also chat with the employee. “He proceeded to ask me about my job and where I come from. And I told him I was from Ghana and have been working at the theater for about a year. He chatted with me for about 5 mins but it felt like forever. He then gave me a hug I will never forget. He is truly a good human being.”
A fantastic story and yet another reason as to why Keanu is a class act.

Celebs in Hollywood have shared the same stories about Keanu and his generosity. According to Ali Wong, Keanu made sure to stay in the back on the red carpet so the focus could be on the young stars.
“Even on the red carpet [at the premiere], he kept on moving to the fringe when we took group shots. It’s Keanu, and everyone’s so excited about him, and everyone else looks like garbage when they’re next to him, so I think he just wanted to be considerate and tried to keep the focus on us.”

Sandra Bullock also praised Keanu for his listening skills, and would always get great advice from the actor – though at times that advice would take a bit of time to be delivered.
Bullock revealed, “When I first met him, I would spend as much time as I could filling a silence, just to feel comfortable. And the more I jibber-jabbered on, the quieter he would get. And I thought, I don’t understand what’s happening! He’s looking at me with eyes of confusion. He’s quiet. Did I say something to offend him?”
“And then a day or two later, he would arrive with a note or a little package, saying, ‘I thought about what you said.’ And he would have his response.”
Great to see Keanu always willing to make time for others, despite his hectic schedule.
