The striker, 23, has ploughed an estimated £1.5 million into three houses on a new estate in Wilmslow, Cheshire, as well as buying a house and flat in Macclesfield.

He has mortgages from the Queen’s bank, Coutts, for all five properties, which were bought in the past three months. It is believed they will be used as buy-to-let investments.

Details of the purchases were revealed in documents published by his property investment company, MUCS Properties.

It follows revelations in August that the England international, who lives in a £1.85 million, six-bedroom house, had splashed out on a golf course in Cheshire where he could build himself a more secluded home.

The Wilmslow houses are in a development where properties are marketed for a minimum of £500,000, and his three-bedroom semi-detached house in Macclesfield is believed to have cost about £325,000.

It has a smart kitchen and dining area, two bathrooms, a large garden and is billed by estate agents as ‘stylish and contemporary’ and on a new ‘sought-after’ development.

It is not known how much the apartment cost, but the average house price for the street is £200,000.

News of the Manchester United player’s burgeoning property port-folio comes as he received the go-ahead to trademark his name in America. Reports on Friday revealed that the US Patent and Trademark Office has issued him with a certificate to sell name-branded goods, including clothes, sportswear, books, grooming products and games.

He is also set for global stardom after billionaire hip-hop mogul Jay-Z signed Rashford to his Roc Nation management agency to co-ordinate the footballer’s off-field branding and philanthropic activities.

Rashford, who came from humble beginnings on a council estate in Wythenshawe, Manchester, made global headlines this summer for his free school meals campaign.

Last week, Boris Johnson was forced into a second U-turn over Rashford’s latest plea to extend free meals for children to all holidays and all households on benefits over the winter, helping an extra 1.7 million youngsters.

His move into property follows in the footsteps of several high-profile former footballers, including David Beckham and Robbie Fowler, who amassed large portfolios during their playing careers.

Wilmslow is part of Cheshire’s so-called Golden Triangle of affluent towns and villages, noted for its expensive houses and scenic countryside. Residents include veteran Coronation Street actor William Roache and former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The town was also the birthplace of the pioneering computer scientist and Second World War codebreaker Alan Turing.
