Lazio winger Mattia Zaccagni has been on fire this season and has emerged as one of the trickiest forwards in Europe’s top five leagues.
The 27-year-old Italian joined the Biancocelesti from Hellas Verona in the summer of 2021 and has quickly grown into one of the symbols of Maurizio Sarri’s project at the club, adding a new layer to the team’s attack.
This season, Zaccagni has scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 37 appearances across all competitions, being a key source of goals in a campaign that has seen Ciro Immobile suffer from various injuries.
As noted by Opta, Zaccagni has caused his opponents to receive a booking 21 times so far this season, the most in Europe’s top five leagues. Just behind him is Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, whose work has generated 18 bookings for his opponents.
The Italian winger is expected to sign a new contract with the Biancocelesti in the coming months, having attracted the interest of a number of top sides.
