The New York Knicks got a big 99-79 win in Game 3 of their first-round series against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday and they have now taken a 2-1 lead.
Knicks fans were ecstatic after the game, with a fan hilariously calling out Kevin Durant, as he had done previously in 2021.
“Yo KD, don’t you regret not coming to the Knicks?”

After the Knicks had gone a perfect 4-0 in pre-season in 2021, this same fan had called out Durant in what had become a viral moment back then.
Durant, of course, was heavily linked with the Knicks in 2019 when he was a free agent but he ultimately decided to head to the Brooklyn Nets along with Kyrie Irving. Last year, Irving stated that the Knicks had a good chance at signing them but they ultimately decided to not go there.
The Nets experiment turned out to be an epic failure but we doubt KD has any regrets about not heading to the Knicks. Despite the shortcomings with the Nets, Durant made it clear he doesn’t regret anything he does and added that he would never say that anything he did was a failure. Still, Knicks fans are going to have some fun and they are now dreaming of a deep postseason run. Another home win in Game 4 would see them be on the cusp of just their second playoff series win in over two decades.
The Knicks Defense Shut Down The CavaliersA big reason why the Knicks are up 2-1 in this series is their defense. They shut down the Cavaliers in this one and became the first team this season to limit their opponent to under 80 points. The Cavs had just 32 points at the half and would end up shooting just 38.8% from the field.
On the offensive end, Jalen Brunson continues to impress, as he finished with 21 points while shooting 10-18 from the field and he also had 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. His co-star Julius Randle is still not quite right just yet and the fact that the Knicks have this lead despite his mediocre play should be a concern for the Cavaliers. Game 4 could well end up deciding this series and if Randle finally gets going, it could be the end for the Cavs.
