VICAR of Dibley Geraldine Granger got the shock of her life when she found herself up for a female bishop position against none other than Emma Watson.
The stunning 24-year-old made a cameo appearance in a one off sketch in which Dawn French’s character finds herself up against some stiff competition for a promotion – which she eventually loses out on.
After believing she could bring a more youthful perspective than the other candidates, Emma walks through the door to shatter those illusions.
Fans immediately took to Twitter to share their delight.
“Emma Watson appearing on the Vicar Of Dibley Comic Relief special is the highlight of my year,” wrote one.
Another added: “Loved @EmWatson in The Vicar of Dibley tonight! So unexpected to see her as I hadn’t heard about it, such a great surprise!! #RedNoseDay.”
One more user wrote: “@EmWatson didn’t expect to see you on Comic Relief!! BEST surprise. And you managed to include activism of some kind”.
