Following in the footsteps of Roger Federer and Margot Robbie, Chris Hemsworth is the latest megastar to land the sought-after quokka selfie.
The Aussie actor posted the photo to his 25 million Instagram followers yesterday after sending the State into a spin over the past week by making a surprise jaunt to WA with fellow Hollywood heartthrob Matt Damon.
Nicknaming himself “Quokka Chris” he posted a tongue in cheek video, in the player window above.
“Spent three weeks crawling around the dirt, studying Quokkas movements, mimicking their language and eventually gained their trust and was accepted as one of them. I now go by the name Quokkachris,” he captioned the video, along with another quokka selfie with wife Elsa Pataky urging his fans to take a visit to Rottnest Island.
Several fans were lucky enough to score a selfie or two before the actor jetted out from the Virgin Australia terminal.
During their time in WA, the stars and their families explored the State’s pristine coast as part of a rumoured deal with Tourism Australia.
After heading to the Gascoyne and spending a relaxing week at Red Bluff, Quobba Station, they were spotted on Rottnest Island sneaking in a cheeky beer or two with the locals.
