Conor McGregor is poised to make a splash in Tinseltown, having secured a part in the upcoming remake of the iconic 1980s action flick, Road House.
The former two-weight world champion, 34, will finally take the plunge into acting after years of speculation and will star in Prime Video’s film alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.
Road House, originally released in 1989 and starring Patrick Swayze, tells the story of a former UFC fighter (Gyllenhaal) who takes a job as a bouncer in Florida.

It is not clear what role Conor will play yet but sources told Deadline that he will be playing an original character and not himself in the movie.
Insiders told the publication that when he was told there was interest in him joining the cast he watched the original for the first time – which he enjoyed.
He then agreed to meet producers to discuss what part he would play in the new film.
Sources added that after a meeting with producer Joel Silver, McGregor loved the idea and the plans for how the remake will differ to the original.

McGregor had been due to make his film debut in XXX: Return of Xander Cage but pulled out following his defeat by Nate Diaz in 2016.
He was eventually replaced by fellow former UFC champion Michael Bisping with Vin Diesel saying: ‘I had created a role for Conor McGregor, and after he lost to Nate Diaz, he had to go to a dark place.
‘He had to go get his manhood back to fight the second time, so he wasn’t able to do this film at the time.’
It comes after Conor appeared less than amused when a bystander threw a bucket hat at him while he celebrated his 34th birthday in Ibiza last week.
A clip from the party showed the mixed martial artist partying it up in a lush beach club when he was suddenly hit with the black cap.
The bewildered birthday boy caught the offending clothing item and watched it flop to the ground.
He sarcastically grinned and shot the mystery hat thrower an animated thumbs up.
The UFC star then angrily stomped at the floor – where the cap was – as he stared the instigator down.

Conor then looked to be mouthing some colourful words under his breath as he returned to the festivities.
MailOnline reached out to Conor’s representatives for comment at the time.
It came as the fighter was in good spirits in pictures from his 34th birthday celebrations which took place on the party island last week.
The UFC fighter took to Instagram on Monday to share a plethora of party snaps from his trip to the Spanish island where he enjoyed the company of friends to mark his milestone.
He could be seen with his arm around his pals in his pictures, captioning his post: ‘What a birthday! What a party! What a crew! I love everyone of you, thank you so much.’
Sportsman Conor jetted off with his partner Dee Devlin and their children but he left the kids at home as he lived it up by the pool, whipping off his top to show off his ripped physique and dance in his swimming trunks.
Conor and Dee share three children together – Conor Jr, five, Croia, three, and Rían, 14 months.
The couple cemented their love for one another by getting engaged in 2020 after 12 years of dating.
