Mia Goth’s MCU casting in Blade has kept her role a secret, but there are a few Marvel characters that the horror movie star could be playing.
Mia Goth has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a mystery role in Blade, and here are some possible Marvel characters she could be playing. Marvel Studios has spent four years developing a solo movie for their biggest vampire hunter with Mahershala Ali attached to star as Eric Brooks. Development has included changing directors, script rewrites, and delays, but the film is finally coming together ahead of its 2024 release date. After previously announcing that Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre had joined the movie, Blade‘s cast now includes Mia Goth, a rising star in the horror genre.
The announcement of Mia Goth’s MCU casting is certainly exciting, but it does still leave a question about which Marvel character she is playing. The initial reports about her joining Blade did not include any information about the identity of her role or how prominent of a figure she is to the film’s plot. Considering Mia Goth’s recent performances in X and Pearl, as well as Infinity Pool, it stands to reason that Marvel will give her a prominent role that could potentially factor into future film plans. Thankfully, there are plenty of intriguing options for Marvel characters Mia Goth can play in the MCU’s Blade.
6.Lilith Drake, The Daughter of Dracula
The fan-favorite suggestion for Mia Goth’s MCU character in Blade is Lilith Drake, the daughter of Dracula. The character created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan first appeared in 1974’s Giant-Size Chillers Featuring Curse of Dracula #1. She was born as the daughter of Dracula before he himself had been turned into a vampire and was outcast with her mother by her father. It was not until after Dracula became a vampire that Lilith was also turned into a blood-sucking creature by a spell performed by her Roma caretaker. Lilith became a powerful vampire with a hatred for Dracula from this point on.
With rumors that Dracula is Blade‘s villain, it would make sense for his daughter Lilith to play a role as well. Her hatred of Dracula would position her as a potential ally for Blade, allowing Mahershala Ali and Mia Goth to team up throughout the film. Lilith is also a daywalker and immune to sunlight like Blade, but her enhanced vampiric powers also include mesmerizing others and possessing other women who hate their fathers. Mia Goth’s MCU role in Blade being a vengeful vampire and daughter of Dracula would give her a major role to play in the film and potentially beyond Phase 5.
5.Lilith, The Mother of Demons
Not to be confused with Dracula’s daughter, Mia Goth’s Blade casting could be as Marvel Comics’ other supernatural character named Lilith, commonly known as the Mother of Demons. Created by Howard Mackie and Andy Kubert in 1992’s Ghost Rider #28, Lilith’s origin and powers have fluctuated throughout her comic history. This has included her being a fallen angel from Heaven or the first woman on Earth. In any instance, Lilith is a supernatural conqueror who has spent millennia attempting to create more demon children and take over the world. Her story was recently updated for the Midnight Suns video game, which made her a servant of Chthon.
The possibility of Lilith appearing in Blade and Mia Goth playing her would likely make her the main villain of the movie. Although Lilith is not a vampire, she is heavily connected to the supernatural world – including having a connection to Mephisto depending on her origin. She has also joined Dracula’s Vampire Nation at times and has fought everyone from Doctor Strange to Ghost Rider. With Mephisto linked to various MCU Phase 5 projects, the emergence of Lilith would create another opportunity for Mia Goth’s Blade character to connect to the larger MCU storyline. Plus, it gives the actress a major role to play.
4.Satana Hellstrom
Marvel Studios could also use Mia Goth’s casting in Blade to bring Satana Hellstrom to the MCU. The daughter of Satan first appeared in 1973’s Vampire Tales #2 from Roy Thomas and John Romita Sr. Satana is the younger sister of Daimon Hellstrom and a powerful demon in her own right. She spent years training in Hell to harness her powers, which include absorbing other people’s souls, using hellfire, and various magical abilities. Satana Hellstrom previously appeared in live-action in Hulu’s Helstrom show as portrayed by Sydney Lemmon.
Mia Goth playing Satana in the MCU gives her a wicked role that could last well beyond Blade. As for how she could factor into the Phase 5 movie, it could depend on what future awaits Satana in the MCU. She has at times become the ruler of Hell, so her quest to consume more souls and trap more people there could mean crossing paths with vampires and Blade. Satana has not always been portrayed as a villain, though, and could be part of a supernatural team Eric Brooks assembles to fight Blade‘s villain. This would be reminiscent of her working with the Thunderbolts or other witches in the comics.
3.Spitfire
One heroic option for the Marvel character Mia Goth can play in the MCU is Spitfire. Jacqueline Falsworth was created by Roy Thomas and Frank Robbins in 1976’s Invaders #7. She is related to the original Baron Blood, a major vampire villain in the comics, and becomes part vampire after he bites her. Spitfire’s powers primarily revolve around her superspeed, but she also has enhanced physiology thanks to her vampiric DNA. She has worked with super teams like the Invaders and MI13 in the comics, although she has also been part of the Vampire Nation and Hellfire Club too.
Blade introducing Spitfire would be another opportunity for the movie to feature a vampire who is a hero. Mia Goth playing this Marvel character would be a great sign for her future in the franchise as well. Her version of Spitfire could connect to Olivia Colman’s Secret Invasion character, but she would more importantly be primed for a role in the MCU’s MI13. She, Blade, and Black Knight are all members of the team in the comics, so seeing Spitfire in Phase 5 could be a sign that the team is on the horizon. A version of them could even form in Blade to give Mia Goth a central role.
2.Rachel van Helsing
Marvel Studios could also use Mia Goth’s Blade casting to bring another vampire hunter into the MCU with Rachel van Helsing. She first appeared in 1972’s Tomb of Dracula #3 by Archie Goodwin and Gene Colan. Her parents were killed by Dracula, and the scar he left her motivated her to begin training as a vampire hunter. Rachel van Helsing’s story does contain tragedy as she eventually started to become a vampire, leading her to ask Wolverine to kill her before she became what she hated. If Blade includes a vampire hunting team for Eric Brooks to work with, Mia Goth’s Rachel van Helsing could be part of it.
1.Queen Cilla
Mia Goth’s MCU character could see her play Queen Cilla, the leader of Tryks – a group of vampires who feed on other vampires. The Tryks look different from normal vampires, as they have fangs, claws, and detachable wings, with Cilla having grey skin. She also has the power to change her pheromones to make others attracted to her. Blade could copy Cilla’s comic story by having her attempt to produce a child with Blade, which would fulfill the prophecy the Tryk queen and a daywalker would create the ruler of the world. This would be a fun chance for Mia Goth to charm her way to world domination.
