According to Goal , Al Nassr consulted Ronaldo in the plan to choose a new coach. The leadership of the Saudi Arabia club is said to be in discussion with the Portuguese superstar about who will take over the team.
CR7 and the host club agree that they need a famous coach to elevate the team. Therefore, Zinedine Zidane and Jose Mourinho are two candidates contacted by Al Nassr. Both have worked with Ronaldo at Real Madrid before.
CBS Sports revealed that Al Nassr had made an offer for Zidane but there was “no guarantee” the former French player would accept. Meanwhile, Al Nassr is willing to give Mourinho a salary of 100 million euros in two seasons. However, the “Special One” wants to end this season with AS Roma before considering the future.
Ronaldo is said to be the cause of coach Rudi Garcia losing his job. The Portuguese superstar feels dissatisfied with the tactics of the former Lyon coach. Not to mention the fact that the French leader no longer owns the dressing room. After the Al Feiha draw, Mr. Garcia raised his voice at his students due to a disagreement over tactics.
Al Nassr leadership is not satisfied with the team’s performance in recent weeks. On April 8, this club was held 0-0 by the 11th place team, Al Feiha, in the 23rd round of the Saudi Pro League. This draw leaves them with a gap of 3 points from the top team Al Ittihad on the rankings.
Coach Garcia was appointed to lead Al Nassr in July 2022. Before that, he helped Lille win Ligue 1 and won the French Cup in 2011. His contract with Al Nassr is valid until June 2024.
