The latest international trailer for Across the Spider-Verse showcases the return of all three Spider-Man incarnations, as seen in No Way Home, hinting at an epic reunion.
A new international trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been released, featuring the return of all three live-action versions of Spider-Man. Following the multiversal epic that was Spider-Man: No Way Home, where Tom Holland’s Peter Parker joined forces with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Webslingers, there have been hopes and many theories that one or all of the live-action heroes might be featured in Across the Spider-Verse with its similar multiversal mayhem. As such, this new trailer provides the biggest tease for their return yet.
Released by Sony Pictures India, the international trailer for Across the Spider-Verse features an epic homage featuring Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland’s versions of Spider-Man before transitioning to Miles Morales, the leading Spider-Man of the animated Spider-Verse films played by Shameik Moore. Combined with Oscar Isaac’s Spider-Man 2099 and his direct reference to Spider-Man: No Way Home and the MCU, the hope and hype are very much present for the trio potentially reuniting along with all the other different Spider heroes seen in the new trailer:
Featuring iconic lines from each of the different live-action Spider-Man actors and shots of their spider symbols, Miles Morales’ equally epic line about how “anyone can wear the mask” is even more exciting following this new trailer.
Will The Live-Action Spider-Men Make An Appearance?
While it’s yet to be officially confirmed, the new trailer for Across the Spider-Verse does support the idea of the live-action trio making an appearance. Likewise, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, in particular, is even more likely, despite Spider-Man 2099’s apparent disdain for him because of the multiversal damage he caused in No Way Home. Additionally, Holland’s MCU Spider-Man almost had a cameo in the first Spider-Verse film, increasing the likelihood of an appearance in the upcoming sequel.
No Way Home’s three Spider-Men could definitely appear in animated form, though there have been theories suggesting Miles could potentially meet one or all of the Webslingers by transitioning to a live-action reality while still being played by Moore (who could easily bring Morales to life beyond his voice). Either way, a reunion and meeting Miles through the Spider-Verse is more than possible for the trio, even if it’s only with the briefest of cameos or part of a post-credits scene. It would certainly generate quite a bit of excitement, something Sony is undoubtedly hoping for by teasing them in this new trailer in the first place.
At any rate, the international trailer featuring the homage to Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland is a great way to kick off the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse trailer, showcasing the epic legacy of Spider-Man on-screen before revealing the future. It’s also a great tease and reminder of what’s capable through the vast multiverse of Spider-based realities. Here’s hoping No Way Home’s live-action Spider-Men indeed make an appearance when the full movie hits theaters.
