Forward A player with a reputation for being outspoken about matters involving the league and the Golden State Warriors is Draymond Green. He is undoubtedly someone who has no qualms about expressing his viewpoint on even the most divisive subjects, and it appears that this has happened today.
On a recent episode of his podcast, Draymond Green explained why he believes the new minimum number of games played requirement for awards isn’t a good thing. He noted that this could end up meaning that lesser players make the All-NBA teams and could be detrimental for owners as well.
Kevin Durant Says Dirk Nowitzki Should Be The Final Speaker In 2023 Hall Of Fame Induction
“I can appreciate this and everyone will appreciate this until you got bums on the All-NBA team and winning awards because someone didn’t qualify… All of a sudden you don’t have any of those guys on All-NBA teams… What NBA are we representing? … I think owners are going to end complaining when they find a bum that they have to give an extension to that made the All-NBA team, and now they come in there asking you for max and supermax because they made the All-NBA team… then we’ll get the complaining.”

Draymond Green makes a good point, and some years we may get some players on All-NBA teams that mostly get on there for their durability. Still, being consistently available for a team is a good quality to have, and it is easy to see why that was added in the new CBA.
Draymond Green Called Out The NBA For Reducing The Midseason Tournament Prize From $1 Million To $500K
There is no doubt that a lot of people are unhappy with the new CBA, and Draymond Green is clearly one of them. Previously, he blasted the league for reducing the award money for the midseason tournament.
“What happened to the 1mm they said when this idea was first introduced?!?! Sheesh we lost 500k there too!”
For a lot of players, the financial aspect of the game is very important. It is very easy to see why Draymond Green is upset, as losing out on any money can be considered a negative for the players.
With that being said, we have to see these changes in effect before drawing any conclusions. Hopefully, things work out better than Draymond Green anticipates, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.
