The Miz will host both nights of WrestleMania 39 this weekend in Los Angeles.
As a former two-time WWE champion and WrestleMania main event winner, the 42-year-old overcame a difficult start to his WWE career 18 years ago to establish himself as a Hall of Fame contender.
However, The Miz has also made his mark in Hollywood and became WWE’s franchise player in their The Marine series.
When he won the main event of WrestleMania 27, The Rock gave the Hollywood A-Lister a big assist en route to setting up his own showdown with Cena.
That year, The Rock was the host of WrestleMania. In the 12 years since that have led to Miz getting that honour, The Rock has helped him find his acting just as he inspired him in his journey to wrestling.

He revealed that The Rock has been a great help to both his acting and wrestling career
‘When I was on this show called “The Real World”, I got done with that show and asked myself in the mirror, what do I want to do with the rest of my life,’ The Miz started. ‘The Rock’s action figure was up on a stand; my castmates got me the figure because they knew I loved wrestling. I looked at the Rock figure and I was like “I want to become a WWE superstar”.
‘That’s where my journey began. Then being able to have come back after 10 years and have him be a part of my moment and I was in his first match back! Not only that, WrestleMania and all these things, it was a dream come true.
‘It’s funny. After WrestleMania, I had to do The Marine 3, I went to do my first movie. I went with my acting coach, I made sure I knew everything top to bottom. Who my character is, how he reacts to certain things, who he is as an embodiment and everything.
‘I was about to go and do my first scene and I was like, ya know what? I’m going to text The Rock and see if he has any advice before I go. “I’m about to shoot my first movie as the lead. Is there any advice you can give me?” And literally, I was about to walk out and I got a call – The Rock.
‘I talked to him for like 20 minutes about everything. And the number one thing I got out of it – and it’s a great thing – is to be natural. Whoever your character is, whatever your character does – be natural. Too many times we’re thinking about “where have I got to step? Where have I got to be? The line is right there. There’s 45 camera going” and you lose sight of it. Just be natural. Get lose in the scene. It was great advice and I still use to this day,’ The Miz revealed.
